Gorniak Mckechnie architects Andy Bain branding design

Gorniak & McKecknie | UK

Based in rural East Anglia, Gorniak & McKechnie specialise in conservation architecture. Championing natural materials and modern techniques they strive to enrich buildings and the lives of those who experience them.

Following a strategic review of the brand, I created an identity centred around the natural environment. The logo, a nod to Arts & Crafts founder William Morris, symbolises rejuvenation and reflects the craftsmanship that is the essence of all their work. That craftsmanship is echoed in the two-sided signage, where the symbol is an aperture that has been precision laser-cut through steel. The brand identity includes a suite of textural images inspired by nature and the materials that are the foundation of their projects. The identity balances tradition with modernity and communicates Gorniak & McKechnie’s commitment to the environments in which their buildings live.
