Duck Island Andy Bain luxury branding design

Duck Island | UK

Duck Island toiletries are one of life's little luxuries. With a name taken from the celebrated island once in London's St James's Park, theirs is a story inspired by the magnificent pelicans gifted to King Charles II in 1664, considered at the time as the ultimate luxury. In the 18th century the island was described as a 'paradise in miniature' and today Duck Island fragrances offer a small but indulgent escape to one's own inner Shangri-la.

The introduction of new fragrances and a range of gifts provided an opportunity to reinvigorate the brand. Highlighting hoteliers as the primary audience, I put the focus on the positive impact Duck Island products have in enhancing the hotel’s offer to their guests. This is encapsulated in the line ‘A little luxury makes a big impression', which has become a cornerstone of the brand.

Dialling-up the regal story, I went on to refresh the brand visually and verbally with a new crest-inspired logo, photography and supporting copy. I undertook a complete redesign of the website and the project also included the design of bottles and packaging, brochures, advertising and direct mail. There are even Do not disturb signs for when guests are enjoying a sumptuous escape to their own miniature paradise!
